Eldra Robertson's Centennial Quilt

Centennial Quilt Eldra Roberston 1913-2010

Mrs. Eldra A. Roberston of Clinton made this quilt in 1967 for the B.C. Centennial Committee's Quilt Competition.

A lifelong seamstress, she worked for 6 months to translate historic photographs into applique and embroidery.

The quilt was exhibited at the Pacific National Exhibition and won first prize, which was $500. It was acquired for the Provincial Museum and Archives.

The quilt was loaned to the Quesnel Museum in 1976 and transferred to our collection in 2013.
